Ingleton Waterfalls Trail

Attraction | Carnforth | Angleterre | Royaume Uni

We took our excited Labrador the day after doing Whernside. This obviously wasn’t as difficult but it had its challenges, not all of the path is easy. Some uneven rocky bits. There wasn’t always a fence barrier at some dangerous parts either. Not what I expected after paying £10 each. There are toilets halfway round but the cafe didn’t open until after lunch. It didn’t do any hot food and dog didn’t like the doggie ice cream.

A quite spectacular circular walk, up into the hills, past an amazing multisensory experience of nature at its finest.

The paths were a little icy as warned by the ticket masters outside, they check your shoes before you go in which is really sweet of them. On the website it did say the falls trail was closed due to bad weather, but we drove to the entrance to check anyway and it was open. Although this is the biggest/only attraction of the town, nobody really knows if the trails are open or not so it’s always best to just check at the ticket booths. For those looking for toilets on the trail, there are 2. One at bezeley farm, which is like a small farm stay, there were no signs on the trail, but they were marked on the map, so I think you need to find them. Another one you will pass by about 30mins to the exit. Also by a small vacation home/hotel. Good walking/hiking shoes highly recommended. Waterproof ones are the best for December/January.

I think £10 is far too expensive, even though it is a nice walk

Decent paths, You're following the ghyll for most of the trail and obviously rough in parts so consider your mobility and not suitable for prams. Little icy underfoot in places. A good walk with lots of waterfalls, suitable for families, couples and lonely walkers. There's toilets at the start and just passed the halfway point.

Absolutely loved this walk. It's a little over 4 miles. Takes approximately 2 hours to walk it. It is very well sign posted. You get to walk alongside the water for most of the walk. The waterfalls are very impressive this time of year. In summer the waterfalls dry up a bit, but it become a great sppt for picnics and paddling. You have to pay to enter as it's National Trust, but parking is free. There's also toilets! Great day out for all the family.

The walk its self is lovely and a great experience. Unfortunately it is let down by a £10 per person charge. While I completely agree that maintenance cost money…. And I am happy to contribute, I can’t help but feel this is over charging. £40 for four of us to go for a walk in the country side is excessive and unfortunately put us off going again.

Incredible close up views of 6 thundering waterfalls along an approx 4.5mile up and down loads of steps walk. But hell was it worth it? Oh yeah, the £10 entry per person.

How much to park? Too expensive! Got a right monopoly on this place. No self respecting Yorkshire man would ever pay that.

Fantastic walk which is 4.5 miles on a well sign posted circular route passing several waterfalls. It all starts in a car park in ingleton with free parking but a £10 per person charge for the walk which at 1st seems expensive but after the walk you will think it money well spent . You go up one valley past sets of waterfalls and then down another with at the half way point there is a toilet block and a tea rooms with a great local chap who will give you a proper Yorkshire welcome so do gave a pit stop there he needs the company . Walked it many times over the past 30 years and it is improving every time .

Second time doing this walk, views are amazing.Took us about 3 hours, there is toilets at the farm which is very handy and cafe when in season. We took a picnic and flask and there was plenty of places to sit, enjoy our cuppa and view. The trail finishes in the village of Ingleton which is a lovely quaint place to visit and finish the day of.

The most beautiful walk. Great for older children and doggies. Stunning scenery and lovely spots all round for picnics. Lovely staff members on entry too. We did the kids trail pack and got a cute memorabilia wooden prize to take home. Took us 3.5 hour with a stop for food and drinks and popped our feet in the water at a safe spot. Lovely morning
